Considering the approach of the 50th anniversary of the historic Vortex I music festival, a group of musicians, entrepreneurs, creatives, foundation partners, nonprofit leaders, state agencies, and outdoor enthusiasts coalesced around the idea of a commemorative music festival at Milo McIver State Park. All agreed that, like Vortex I, it should be free to attend. There was also consensus that it should be more socially ambitious than a standard music festival – with the power to inspire action and participation in projects across the state.
The concept that emerged for Vortex 2020 at once seemed innovative, challenging, kind of crazy, and 100% worth our efforts. We think you’ll agree!
